Junior Accountant

This is a fully on-site position, Monday through Friday, in Costa Mesa, CA. Only applicants who are local to Orange County, CA will be considered. POSITION SUMMARY Rove is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Junior Accountant to support the company’s day-to-day accounting operations. This position is primarily focused on accounts payable, invoice processing, bank reconciliations, check preparation, and maintaining accurate financial records across multiple QuickBooks Desktop entities. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable working with numbers, and able to manage routine accounting tasks accurately and efficiently. This is a hands-on role that is well suited for someone who enjoys transactional accounting and bookkeeping and is looking to build and grow their accounting experience in a fast-paced environment. This position reports to the Accounting Manager and works closely with all members of the Accounting & Finance team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Accounts Payable & Invoice Processing Process and enter invoices accurately and efficiently Review invoices for accuracy, appropriate approvals, and required supporting documentation Organize and maintain vendor invoices and accounting records Assist with accounts payable processing and vendor payments Assist with vendor setup and maintenance Track outstanding invoices and follow up as needed Prepare checks and other payment documentation Maintain organized electronic and paper accounting files Respond to basic vendor and internal accounting questions Bank Reconciliations & General Accounting Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations Research and resolve basic discrepancies between bank records and accounting records Accurately enter financial transactions into QuickBooks Desktop Assist with maintaining accurate general ledger records Assist with basic bookkeeping and accounting tasks as needed Maintain supporting documentation for accounting transactions Assist with recording and tracking expenses Administrative & Team Support Assist the accounting team with routine accounting and bookkeeping requests Maintain organized accounting files and documentation Help ensure invoices, payments, and accounting records are processed in a timely manner Communicate with internal teams and vendors regarding basic accounting and invoice- Perform other general accounting and administrative duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS 2-3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, or related experience preferred Accounting or Finance degree, coursework, or equivalent experience preferred Experience with QuickBooks Desktop highly preferred Basic understanding of accounts payable and bookkeeping principles Experience performing bank reconciliations preferred Must be comfortable preparing and writing checks Strong attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational skills and ability to stay on top of routine deadlines Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills Strong computer skills and the ability to learn and navigate new software and technology quickly Comfortable working with multiple software platforms and electronic accounting systems Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative member of the finance team Professional written and verbal communication skills Dependable, organized, and willing to take ownership of assigned tasks COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Rove offers a competitive compensation package along with a comprehensive benefits program designed to support employees’ health, well-being, and long-term success.
