Community Manager for HOA Communities (HouN)

START A CAREER IN COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT WITHOUT PRIOR HOA/Property EXPERIENCE! We seek positive and motivated professionals who want to make a career change into property and HOA community management. We do not require prior HOA/Property management experience; our education company will provide an industry‑leading training program. The initial training takes one year, and you will become an industry expert in three years. Mentors will provide real‑life support to help you advance your skill set. The education prepares you for future roles in our company or your external career progression. Typical backgrounds include retail leadership, restaurant and hospitality management, administrative roles, department managers, office management, and operations. Candidates must have 8 to 10 years of professional experience where proactive effort and decision‑making are required. Helpful skills include customer service, administration, communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, insurance, budgeting, financials, legal matters, and vendor management. WHAT IS A COMMUNITY MANAGER? The community manager is the face of our organization, acting as a liaison between HOA board members, homeowners, and vendors. The role requires full ownership of tasks and projects, customer‑service excellence, vendor relationship management, and portfolio operations, all while maintaining a positive attitude. DAY‑TO‑DAY RESPONSIBILITIES Live the Same Day Response Policy enthusiastically. Engage with board members and homeowners. Manage daily, weekly, and monthly tasks for a portfolio of associations. Plan and facilitate association board meetings and annual meetings. Handle vendor relations, including bidding and project management. Consult with other departments in support of communities. Support risk management, insurance, and litigation matters. Prepare budgets and manage the finances of the associations. Be available for after‑hour emergencies. Perform additional duties as needed. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS 8+ years of solid work experience. Ability to attend and run evening meetings (typically 30‑40 per year). High‑level organizational skills in a fast‑paced environment. Proficiency with office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Quick adaptation to new business computer systems. Strong customer‑friendly and informative communication skills. Experience with financial statements and budgets. Comfortable with public speaking in small and large meetings. Conflict management skills under stressful situations. Experience gathering bids for large projects and managing those projects. TRAINING PROGRAM Community Manager Mentor assigned for on‑the‑job guidance. Community manager tribe provides peer learning across experience levels. Unique in‑house, web‑based learning academy. Regular updates on changes to laws and seasonal topics.
