Tax Senior Manager
Thriving regional accounting firm is in search of a Senior Tax Manager to join their team in Woodland Hills, CA. This role offers a balanced work life, generous benefits including substantial bonuses and a 401K contribution, and a clear path to advancement!
Role
- Conducts thorough technical review and approval of tax filings and audits.
- Acts as a specialist in designated industry or discipline.
- Takes on full responsibility for major tax returns and assigns tasks to preparers as needed.
- Manages client relationships for assigned clients and those delegated by the Partner.
- Spearheads and oversees tax audits, potentially representing clients before tax authorities.
- Plays a role in cultivating a well-trained team by contributing to recruitment, evaluations, and training.
- Ensures tax returns are processed accurately, completely, and on time.
- Handles billing processes and prepares various reports as needed.
- Evaluates and recommends tax software for the firm.
- Engages in firm development activities through community and professional partnerships.
Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in current tax regulations.
- Proficient in tax software tools for preparation, research, and planning.
- Expectation of occasional and heavy overtime during peak seasons.
- Seven to ten years of progressive experience in public accounting with a focus on tax.
- Minimum two years of client representation before tax authorities.
- At least one year supervising tax preparers.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required, Master's preferred.
- Mandatory annual continuing education to maintain technical skills.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license and AICPA membership required.
