Department FAC PRAC PRIMARY CARE – La Jolla Ambulatory Clinics Salary and Employment Conditions Hiring Pay Scale: $32.45 – $44.65 per hour (Hourly, 80% appointment). Yearly Equivalent: $35.91 – $44.65 per hour; Annual Full Pay Range: $74,980 – $93,229. Pay may be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%. Appointment Type: Career – 8‑hour shifts, Monday‑Friday. Union: EX Contract. Total Openings: 1. Position Summary Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse in La Jolla Internal Medicine, the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) performs a wide variety of patient care activities supporting clinic operations, including triage, patient examinations, medication administration, phlebotomy, lab test preparation, and patient education. The role requires initiative, prioritization of critical demands, and teamwork. Responsibilities Prioritize and assist in patient triage processing. Prepare for and assist with patient examinations. Administer medications and draw blood. Collect and prepare laboratory tests. Provide patient education. Maintain knowledge of universal precautions and proper use of body mechanics. Minimum Qualifications Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) issued by the state of California. BART or BLS at time of hire, with commitment to obtain BART within six months. Minimum two years of LVN experience (required for Sr. LVN level). Presence of at least two years of experience will be considered for Sr. LVN hire. Proven ability to take initiative, prioritize critical demands, and work in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications Two years of experience in a clinical setting. POCT experience. EPIC or other EMR experience. Experience in primary care adult settings. Internal medicine experience. Back‑office experience. Special Conditions Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs. Willing to work overtime as required.
