Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 13-week travel contract requiring telemetry skills, Epic proficiency, and an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Medical/Surgical unit in a hospital setting with 34 staffed beds
• Day shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Patient ratio of 1:6, with potential flex to 1:7 during unplanned staff absences
• Every other weekend required
• On-call required on a PRN/low census basis
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs, including like units and sister facilities
• Charting via Epic EMR
• Free parking available

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact RN license; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have the license in hand prior to start
• AHA-issued BLS certification required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred (AHA-issued)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, insulin administration, and rapid response
• Driver's license and SSN required for consideration
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs
• Online orientation modules are completed prior to the start of the assignment
• Scrub color: Royal Blue
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity occurs in August and September
