Specialist, Data Solution Analyst - NF IIR

Overview Nationwide’s Technology team seeks a motivated Specialist, Data Analyst who translates business needs into practical data solutions, strengthens data quality and reporting, and partners across teams to deliver secure, reliable, and efficient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Elicit reporting and analytic requirements from business and technology requestors to generate visualizations or analyses. Support implementation of data requirements and practices for assigned areas. Apply secure software and systems engineering practices to ensure data and technology solutions are protected. Create and execute standard visualization techniques under supervision. Present findings from data exploration exercises to stakeholders. Map data flows, business processes or technical interfaces and recommend solutions or adaptations. Collaborate with others to implement standardized data reporting, analytics, and visualization tools. Perform profiling, mapping, and modeling tasks. Partner on projects requiring data visualization as needed. Perform other responsibilities as assigned. Required Qualifications Undergraduate degree in computer science, management information systems, business, statistics, math, or a related field (graduate studies a plus). Two to five years of experience with data management, organization, analytics or related practices. Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar. Intermediate or stronger SQL skills for custom queries. Understanding of data modeling, data mapping and data flow across processes. Knowledge of secure software and systems engineering practices for data solutions. Strong oral and written communication; ability to explain findings to technical and non‑technical audiences. Strong collaboration and team‑first mindset. Problem‑solving, critical‑thinking, and analytical skills. Adaptability and curiosity to learn new tools and technologies. Attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality work. Business acumen linking data work to business outcomes. Responsible and practical use of AI to improve analysis. Desired Skills Experience with reporting and dashboarding platforms beyond Power BI/Tableau. Experience supporting self‑service analytics. Familiarity with AI‑enabled tools and emerging analytics platforms. Experience in insurance or financial services industry (a plus). Certifications are encouraged but not required. Other Information Location: Columbus, OH (One Nationwide Plaza). Must reside within 35 miles of the office. Work schedule: Monday and Tuesday 2 days in office, 3 days remote. This role is not eligible for employer‑sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the STEM OPT extension program. Hiring basis: SuccessFlex. Salary range: $95,500.00 – $177,500.00 (expected starting range $95,500.00 – $143,500.00).
