Psychiatrist Position

Springwoods Behavioral Health is seeking to recruit a psychiatrist to work with our In-Patient Services team. Springwoods offers a number of specialized behavioral health treatment programs for all patient types. Among these are programs for adolescents, adults, women and senior adults. In each treatment program, a multidisciplinary team of professionals—including psychiatrists, nurses, social workers and therapists—develop an individualized treatment plan for each patient based on their particular needs and strengths. Reporting to the Medical Director, the staff psychiatrist is responsible for the medical and psychiatric aspects of admitting and treating of patients at Springwoods Behavioral Health. The staff psychiatrist is responsible for the initial and continued assessment of patients and for their treatment. The emphasis in this position is ensuring the existence of an up-to-date treatment plan appropriate to the patient's psychiatric and medical condition and psychosocial background and making sure that treatment proceeds in an effective manner in accordance with the treatment plan. The work of the staff psychiatrist is evaluated by the Unit Medical Director on the basis of patients' charts, progress of assigned patients, and statistical and anecdotal information.

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited School of Medicine with a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine supplemented by the completion of psychiatric residency training. Board certification or eligibility for Board Certification in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry or Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Psychiatry. Arkansas Medical License, or ability to obtain B/C or B/E in General Psychiatry J-1 Visa Qualified.
