Job Description The Senior Product Compliance Engineer supports the development of enterprise-wide programs and processes to support Product Compliance projects for the Software & Control business. This includes supporting projects to address product standards and certifications. These projects also address regulations, including those required for electrical safety, management of hazardous substances in products, EMC performance, energy efficiency of products, and end-of-life responsibilities. You will also work with New Product Introduction processes to ensure that new Rockwell Automation products meet relevant product regulations and certification requirements. You will report to the Engineering Manager and have a hybrid work schedule from Milwaukee, WI or Mayfield Heights, OH. Responsibilities Ensure completion of product development compliance deliverables including compliance assessment, design review, certification and test plan creation, documentation, and process implementation for new product development introductions. May serve as the primary product compliance interface with domestic and third‑party safety agencies such as UL, FM, TUV, etc. Lead cross‑functional projects of small‑to‑medium scale to enact changes to products and processes to ensure compliance to new or changed product environmental regulations and safety certification requirements. Work with Technology Standards and Conformance organization to monitor and analyze regulatory trends and positions and share information with impacted business groups. Works with Strategic Sourcing and Rockwell Automation suppliers to ensure that the supply chain is positioned and responsive to support RA compliance programs. Supports external customers by addressing requirements for product compliance information. Business Influence business groups to incorporate regulatory and certification requirements into product designs for both legacy and new products. Monitor and understand complex regulatory and market drivers and their ability to affect product lines. Works with business partners to assess risk and strategy for ensuring compliance of RA products. Presents strategies to stakeholders and decision‑makers to secure support for programs as necessary. Comprehends the needs and requirements of customers or business partners in order to bring strategic value to them. Promoting regulatory compliance and customer needs as the key drivers for business goals and initiatives. Identifies and drives continuous improvement opportunities to drive faster time to market, reduce certification costs, and optimize projects. Ensures familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but are not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g., health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network. The Essentials – You Will Have Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field Legal authorization to work in the US is required. The Preferred – You Might Also Have Typically needs a minimum of 5 years experience Experience in Manufacturing/Development Engineering Organization, in an electronics manufacturing organization. B. S. Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Computer Engineering or related technical field with knowledge in the application of basic engineering and manufacturing principles, theories, and techniques. Frame and manage with high quality, a large quantity of ambiguous or complex work. LSS or PMP certification. Experience in new product development, including using the Rockwell Automation Common Product Development (CPD) Process and knowledge of SAP. Familiarity with Rockwell Automation Control and Visualization products.
