Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you should:

• Effectively read, write and communicate in English with residents and other employees.
• Have a food handlers permit as required by provincial law/local/state and/or Company standards.
• Possess a Serv safe certification.
• Be able to follow and read recipes and production guides.
• Have knowledge of food handling, preparation, cooking, and service.

Responsibilities

Your duties will include:

• Assisting with the preparation and presentation of meals.
• Providing a high level of customer service.
• Working closely with the Executive Chef and/or Sous Chef to keep residents satisfied with food and dining programs.
• Maintaining the kitchen in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition at all times.
• Adhering to cleaning schedules as assigned.
• Ensuring that all food is received, stored, and prepared according to company standards.
• Assisting cook with preparation and presentation of meals and snacks in accordance with Company recipes and production guides.
• Keeping kitchen floors clean (sweeps and mops) and trash emptied.
• Assisting with the transportation and storage of food and supplies.
• Adhering to standard food safety practices.
• Assisting with preparing and executing special events, banquets, and theme meals.
• Operating and maintaining kitchen equipment in a clean and sanitary manner.
• Attending pre-meal stand-up in the kitchen prior to meal service.
• Performing other duties as needed and/or assigned.

Salary Range

The wage range for this position is $13.00/hr - $15.60/hr, dependent on prior work history and experience.
