Senior Staff Accountant

Senior Staff AccountantWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our rapidly growing accounting team. This role will be expected to perform a variety of general accounting functions along with leading the company in accounts payable and fixed asset reporting. This position reports to the Controller and is responsible for applying GAAP, reviewing and analyzing financial information, and preparing financial reports. An ideal candidate is responsive, thoughtful, self-directed, positive, self-starter, and seeking a challenging role in a company where there is expansive room to grow.Key Responsibilities:Maintain accurate records of inventory, fixed assets, prepaids, capital expenditures, and other financial dataCollaborate cross-functionally with Operations, HR, Maintenance, and IT departments on financial mattersPrepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reportsSupport month-end and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate reportingOversee accounts payable processes, ensuring business partners are paid in a timely and accurate mannerAssist Controller with financial statement auditsAnalyze financial data and provide variance explanations to managementMaintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and sub-ledgersConduct periodic inventory counts and reconciliationsAssist with tax reporting and complianceAssist with the development, review, and updating of accounting policies, estimates, and proceduresEnsure monthly expense reports are reviewed and categorized appropriatelySupport process improvements and implementation of best practices in accounting operationsPrepare ad-hoc reportsPerform other duties and responsibilities as assignedQualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field4+ years of financial accounting experience or 2+ years of public accounting experienceKnowledge of GAAP and internal controlsExperience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks)Advanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detail and organizational abilitiesAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities under deadlinesStrong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to adhere to the highest standards of confidentiality and discretion in all business matters
