About Us:

The Law Offices of Thomas Stahl is a boutique family law and estate planning firm based in Columbia, MD. We're seeking an associate attorney to join our collaborative, fast-paced practice and help deliver high-quality representation to our clients.

About the Role:

We're looking for a candidate with litigation experience, ideally in family law. Experience in estate planning, probate, or estate litigation is a strong plus.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload spanning family law, estate planning, guardianship, probate, and estate litigation.
• Draft motions, pleadings, discovery requests, financial statements, and other legal documents.
• Take depositions and affidavits of clients and witnesses.
• Conduct and analyze legal research.
• Manage shifting timelines and competing priorities across multiple active cases.
• Set and manage client expectations throughout the representation.
• Support other case types as needed.

Qualifications:

• Admission to the Maryland Bar required; DC Bar admission a plus.
• Minimum 1 year of litigation experience, preferably in family law.
• Experience with estate planning, guardianships, probate, or estate litigation a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with case management software, Clio preferred.
• Proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
