Adherence to standards of business conduct and compliance./ppMajor Responsibilities/pulliInterviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients charts./liliPrepares treatment rooms for examination of patients./liliDrapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment./liliHands instruments and materials to doctor as directed./liliCleans and sterilizes instruments./liliInventories and orders medical supplies and materials./liliGives injections or treatments, and performs routine laboratory tests./liliKeys data into computer to maintain office and patient records./liliAssist doctors with charting Chart auditing, CPT and ICD-9 review/liliVenipunctures, EKGs, Vital Signs, Blood draws, and Injections/liliPrep patients for examination and treatment, and assist during minor office procedures/liliPrepare exam and treatment rooms (instrument preparation and sterilization, prescription refills, faxing, and filing)/li/ulpKnowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications/ppMedical Assistant experience CPT I certification Experience performing EKGs, blood draws, vital signs and IM injections. Ability to work well under pressure and be quick on your feet Neat and professional appearance Effective written and verbal communication skills Vocational certificate in Medical Assistant/ppWorking Conditions/ppCenter-Based. Requires working in a clinical setting. The noise level is moderate and there is a potential for exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens. The ability to stand and sit for hours at a time, (with some bending and stooping), ability to use manual dexterity in relation to clinical requirements, and ability to lift 50 lbs./p/div
