Campus Shop Associate (pt 20-23 hrs/wk)

Summary of Position: Provide friendly and knowledgeable customer service in Western's Campus Shop and offer phone or online assistance to students and staff in an ever-changing, dynamic retail setting. Hours may increase during registration and orientation periods and during the first two weeks of the semester start date. This non-benefit eligible position would be 20 to 23 hours/week.

Essential Functions

1. Maintain and uphold the College values of Learning, Excellence, Accountability, Diversity, Student Success, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect. Regular attendance is required. 2. Perform office function's which may include, but are not limited to: respond to internal/external customers and staff; create and modify documents, records, and reports using College standard software; maintain hard copy and/or electronic filing system; monitor inventory and budget information; schedule, coordinate, and prepare materials for meetings and/or appointments. 3. Complete all required College training and responsible for maintaining the skills necessary to complete the essential functions of the position as defined by the department. 4. Student Success is the cornerstone of Western's culture and the college may assign employees as needed to other areas or additional duties to foster this success. 5. Campus Shop & eCampus Customer Support - Supporting Actions/Tasks May Include:

• Provide a high level of customer service by promptly greeting and assisting walk-in customers, and responding to questions about products and purchases and Campus Shop services.
• Provide customer assistance in person, by phone, and through online communication as appropriate.
• Provide support for textbook ordering, returns, and customer questions using the eCampus online bookstore.
• Provide eCampus technical support and troubleshooting

6. Cashiering and Merchandising, & Store Promotions Duties - Supporting Actions/Tasks May Include:

• Perform accurate and efficient retail sales activities.
• Operate cash register to process payments and issue refunds or exchanges as necessary.
• Perform tasks related to store opening and closing
• Tag and stock new merchandise upon arrival and restock shelves.
• Maintain appearance of sales floor by organizing, dusting, and straightening of merchandise on shelves.
• Assist with receiving deliveries and verifying shipment contents
• Help with regular inventory checks and end-of-year physical inventory
• Support additional Campus Shop functions and responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications :

• High School Graduate or GED Recipient

Preferred Qualification:

• One-year Retail or Customer Service experience including operating cash register
• Computer skills including: (MS word, Excel, Outlook)
• Or Combination of experience

This position reports to: Campus Shop & eCampus Manager Starting hourly salary range based on education and experience: $20.28 - $24.91 This non-benefit eligible position would be 20-23 hours/week. Hours may increase during registration and orientation periods and during the first two weeks of the semester start dates.
