UnityPoint Clinic is a physician-led, nonprofit health care organization offering comprehensive services in primary care, walk-in care and specialty care. • Our UnityPoint Health - Prairie Parkway medical campus provides patient-centered, comprehensive care in one location. Prairie Parkway is not a hospital but offers a full range of services in a 90,000-square-foot anchor building.
• Primary and specialty providers at this medical campus work together to help you prevent serious illness and live a healthy life.
• Pharmacy, lab, Xray, and Physical Therapy located onsite
• Specialties at Prairie Parkway include Rheumatology, Endocrinology and Diabetes, OBGYN, Peds, Family Medicine residency program, Family medicine, and Internal medicine
• Opportunity to practice outpatient medicine in an established and well-known clinic
• Established hospitalist and Impact team to manage inpatient and nursing home responsibilities.
• Large, established referral network
• Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination

Responsibilities

• Outpatient Internal Medicine clinic at one central location
• Clinic hours 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM no nights or weekends
• Full-time position, including dedicated administrative time, with flexible scheduling to ensure sufficient patient access
• Shared 1:7 call triaged through MyNurse and phone call only.
• Average 18-22 patients per day
• Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
• Access and manage acute and chronic conditions
• Screen all patients for health maintenance needs, physicals, disease prevention, immunizations, birth control, and educate patients in health promotion,
• Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine
• Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa
• Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician's field of practice
• Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
