School Social Worker
School Social Worker provides comprehensive services to students in a school setting, supporting their social, emotional, and academic success. The position requires a Michigan Department of Education license, at least one year of experience, and a caseload of about 25 students. The role offers up to $55 per hour for a 39-week contract in Manchester, Michigan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive social work services to students in a school setting, supporting their social, emotional, and academic success.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop and implement individualized support plans.
- Conduct assessments to identify student needs and develop appropriate interventions or referrals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided, progress notes, and compliance records.
- Advocate for students and their families, ensuring access to necessary resources and support systems.
Qualifications:
- Licensed by the Michigan Department of Education with a valid school social work license.
- Holds appropriate school social worker licensure/certification through MDOE.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a school social worker with a caseload of approximately 25 students in general and special education settings.
- Ability to work full-time (37.5 hours per week) during daytime school hours.
- Strong communication, empathy, adaptability, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information.
- Ability to work in a school environment.
- Background check clearance as required by state and district regulations.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience consulting for students on individualized education plans.
