POSITION SUMMARY:
The Accounting Analystposition is in the Office of the Controller. This is administrative/professionalwork in general accounting.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for a rangeof accounting functions within the Controller's Office, including:

Preparationof journal entries

Preparationof invoices for external parties

Assistingwith inventory accounting

Providing supportto Post Award Services

Providingsupport in the preparation of the University's annual Form 990

Dailyaccounting file transfers and imports to Banner

Conducts variance analysis for accounts included inthe monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Responsible for the timely preparation and completionof various year end schedules and work papers used by the independent auditorsin conjunction with their examination of the university's financial statements.


Carries out regular and adhoc projects, as assigned by the supervisor.

Completes other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited institution.

Preferred qualifications:
Prior work experience in highereducation or related non-profit accounting environment.

Alternately, thesuccessful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience andtraining, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required toperform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, thefollowing:

Working knowledge of generallyaccepted accounting principles (GAAP), as it pertains to not for profits,specifically FAS 116 and FAS 117;

Working knowledge of other general accounting principles;

Ability and knowledge of general accounting routines;

Proficiency with Microsoft Office software;

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;

Ability to perform multiple tasks and meet deadlines;

Ability to understand and willingness to support theUniversity Mission Statement.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with theUniversity Community.
