Position: Fine Dining Server
Department: Front of House
Reports To: Restaurant Manager / General Manager

Position Summary

Indian Spice Restaurant & Bar is seeking an experienced, polished, and hospitality-driven Fine Dining Server to provide exceptional service in a refined dining environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering memorable guest experiences through professional table service, extensive menu knowledge, and attention to every detail. This position requires a commitment to excellence, teamwork, and genuine hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience

• Welcome guests warmly and professionally while creating a sophisticated and welcoming atmosphere.

• Escort guests to their tables when appropriate and present menus with confidence.

• Develop rapport with guests by anticipating their needs and delivering personalized service.

• Ensure every guest receives attentive, courteous, and memorable service from arrival through departure.

• Handle guest concerns professionally and resolve issues promptly while maintaining a positive dining experience.

Food & Beverage Service

• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of Indian cuisine, regional specialties, ingredients, spice levels, cooking methods, and preparation techniques.

• Explain menu items, chef specialties, and seasonal offerings with confidence.

• Make thoughtful food, wine, cocktail, beer, and dessert recommendations that complement each meal.

• Accurately enter guest orders into the POS system.

• Serve food and beverages using proper fine dining service techniques.

• Monitor tables discreetly to maintain beverage service, table cleanliness, and guest satisfaction.

• Present and process guest checks accurately while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Dining Room Standards

• Maintain impeccable cleanliness and organization of dining areas.

• Properly set and reset tables according to restaurant standards.

• Ensure glassware, silverware, linens, and table settings meet presentation expectations.

• Participate in opening, closing, and side work assignments.

• Maintain knowledge of daily specials, private events, promotions, and menu changes.

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with kitchen staff, bartenders, hosts, and management to ensure seamless service.

• Assist fellow servers during busy service periods.

• Promote teamwork and contribute to a positive work environment.

Compliance

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.

• Comply with responsible alcohol service requirements and company policies.

• Maintain professional appearance and grooming standards at all times.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of restaurant serving experience; fine dining experience preferred.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, and beverage service.

• Ability to learn and confidently explain Indian cuisine and cultural dining traditions.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Professional demeanor with a genuine passion for hospitality.

• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Food Handler and Alcohol Service Certification (if required by state law).

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk for extended periods.

• Lift and carry trays weighing up to 30 pounds.

• Bend, stoop, reach, and move safely throughout the dining room.

• Work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
