Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical IMCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in specialty License: Active state nursing license required Certifications: Basic Life Support certification required Must-Have: - Charge experience preferred - Experience with Epic charting system required Description: First-timers accepted. Weekend requirements are every other weekend. On-call requirements are not applicable. Clinician may float within scope to meet facility needs. Block scheduling is not open for accommodation. Candidates must reside outside a 100-mile radius. Pending licenses accepted. Request time off ideally should not exceed 5 days. Client may cancel up to 3 shifts at any time without penalty. On-call hours do not count toward guaranteed minimum hours. Type of facility is a short-term acute care. The facility has a Magnet designation and is a teaching facility. It offers level III trauma care. The total number of staffed beds is 672. Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Daily census averages 48 patients. Each unit has 48 rooms with 48 beds. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Patient diagnoses cover complex medical and surgical cases. Special procedures and equipment include management of tracheostomies and IV insulin protocols. Travel experience is preferred. Knowledge and experience with managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction are required. Required skills include accessing and managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, and blood product administration. Experience with high respiratory needs and titration of heated high flow is essential. Documentation experience using Epic is necessary for some positions. Candidates must agree to compliance requirements, including background checks. Travelers will receive a stipend for completing pre-start modules. All onsite modules are billable.
