Certified Retail Pharmacy Tech | Riverview, Florida

A pharmacy technician role is available for a 13-week contract position in Clearwater, FL, with a Monday through Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. This role focuses on retail pharmacy operations, including processing and filling prescriptions, managing inventory, handling insurance claims, and assisting with packaging and shipping medications.


Key Responsibilities:

• Process prescriptions, handle insurance adjudications, and resolve rejections.
• Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification.
• Perform data entry, manage prescription paperwork, and communicate with patients and prescribers.
• Maintain accurate inventory through daily cycle counts, restocking, and expiration reviews.
• Assist with returns, medication quarantines, and destruction processes.
• Cross-train in various pharmacy functions and support department needs as required.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations.

Desired Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Active Florida pharmacy technician license and PTCB certification preferred but not mandatory.
• Minimum of 2 years' pharmacy technician experience, with retail experience highly preferred (hospital experience not suitable).
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office and making phone calls.
• Strong multitasking, organizational, and time management skills.
• Effective communication with patients, providers, and internal teams.
