Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

Location: New Jersey

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:00 - 06:30)

Job Description: The Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular Operating Room will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care for adult patients undergoing open-heart surgeries and other related procedures. The RN will be required to scrub for open CVOR cases and TAVR and will float to the Main OR if there are no CVOR cases scheduled. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of cardiovascular surgical procedures and devices.

Responsibilities:

• Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care to adult patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery.
• Scrub and circulate for open heart surgeries, including CABG and valve repairs.
• Utilize advanced medical devices such as Impella, HeartMate, ECMO, and laser lead extraction in surgical procedures.
• Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation protocols within the operating room.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal care and successful patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• 3+ years of experience in a cardiovascular operating room setting.
• Active NJ or Compact RN license required at the time of submission.
• BLS certification required; CNOR certification is preferred.
• Experience with TAVR and other cardiovascular procedures is required.
• Knowledge of devices such as Impella, HeartMate, ECMO, and laser lead extractions is necessary.
