Sr. Functional Analyst - Total Rewards

Primary Purpose of this Position: The Senior Functional Analyst serves as the subject-matter expert for SAP SuccessFactors Compensation module. The role partners with Total Rewards, HR, IT, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable system solutions. This includes optimizing configuration, supporting integrations, ensuring compliance with governance standards, and driving continuous improvement of the compensation (or Total Rewards) technology landscape, including Base Pay, Short and Long Term Incentive, and Benefits.

Essential Responsible Areas:

  • Lead the elicitation and analysis of future-state system requirements using interviews, workshops, documentation reviews, process mapping, use cases, and workflow analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., TR, HR, IT) to define functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Communicate requirements clearly and produce artifacts such as BRDs, process flow diagrams, configuration workbooks, interface specifications, test cases, and UAT plans.
  • Identify innovative and scalable solutions that challenge existing assumptions and support business strategic objectives.
  • Ensures that systems and application designs adhere to the Ball IT Governance standards.
  • Collaborates with other divisions IT leads as well as other stakeholders to align solution in support of the business' tactical and strategic plans.
  • Monitor emerging technologies, SuccessFactors releases, compliance needs, and industry best practices; recommend improvements accordingly.
  • Work closely with third-party vendors including software providers, implementation partners, and consultants.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of current and upcoming application functionality, particularly cloud offerings, to meet evolving business needs.
  • Lead and support testing activities, including defining UAT scope and validating new or updated system configurations.
  • Partner with strategic solution providers on both small and large-scale programs supporting the HR technology roadmap.
  • Configure and maintain SuccessFactors Compensation components, including requisition and offer templates, application templates, workflows, business rules, picklists, tasks, and panels to enable efficient recruiting and onboarding processes.
  • Support integrations with Employee Central and benefits providers.
  • Mentors other analysts on the team by providing guidance and hands-on solving of complex problems.

Professional & Education Qualification: BA/BS in Business Administration, HR, Information Systems, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. 5+ years of experience supporting HR technology solutions in large or complex environments. Experience delivering software and technology solutions and leading cross-functional efforts. Experience with triaging and escalating using ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow). Strong understanding of Compensation business processes.

Skills: Ability to manage and prioritize multiple, complex projects simultaneously. Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and mitigate risks effectively. Strong product management and analytical abilities to translate business needs into system requirements. Effective management of customer expectations regarding scope, timelines, and deliverables. Strong analytical, documentation, and communication (verbal & written) skills. Proven project planning and management skills. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and data interpretation capabilities. Collaborative mindset with strong stakeholder engagement skills.

Knowledge: Hands-on experience with SAP SuccessFactors (Compensation preferred) or similar HRIS platforms. Working knowledge of compensation business processes. Understanding of software quality, testing methodologies, and release management.
