Role Description The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a full-time, on-site role based at RICEVILLE FAMILY CARE & THERAPY CENTER in Riceville, IA. The LPN provides direct patient care, including preparing patients for examinations, taking vital signs, administering medications, and performing treatments as directed by registered nurses and providers. Daily responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, documenting care in medical records, supporting care plans, and promptly reporting changes in patient status. The LPN collaborates with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other staff to coordinate care, educate patients and families, and promote a safe and comfortable environment. The role also includes maintaining infection control standards, assisting with procedures, and participating in quality improvement and teamwork initiatives. Qualifications Current and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Iowa. Completion of an accredited practical nursing program; additional clinical training or certifications (e.g., BLS/CPR) preferred. Demonstrated skills in direct patient care, including medication administration, vital sign monitoring, and basic nursing procedures. Strong documentation and electronic health record (EHR) skills, with attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time, and work reliably in a fast-paced clinical environment. Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and adherence to regulatory and organizational policies. Experience in family practice, primary care, or therapy/rehabilitation settings is beneficial.
