Shipping & Receiving Coordinator
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Coordinator to join our team. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of materials and finished products that support our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced production environment and understand the importance of inventory accuracy, quality, and on-time delivery.
Our company specializes in low- to medium-volume, high-mix manufacturing for the Surface Transportation industry, including passenger automotive, heavy truck, aftermarket, and agricultural markets. We also support military, industrial, and consumer electronics customers through the entire product life cyclefrom concept and prototype to full production and end-of-life service.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments and verify materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documentation.
- Inspect incoming products for damage, shortages, and accuracy before processing.
- Accurately enter receiving and shipping information into the ERP/inventory management system.
- Prepare customer shipments, including picking, packing, labeling, and generating shipping documents.
- Coordinate shipments using various carriers including UPS, FedEx, LTL, and freight companies.
- Load and unload trucks safely using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts and inventory transactions.
- Organize warehouse locations to ensure efficient material flow and storage.
- Stage materials for production and deliver components to manufacturing as needed.
- Ensure proper packaging of sensitive electronic and mechanical components to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain shipping, receiving, and inventory records in accordance with company procedures.
- Follow FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory practices where applicable.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment following all OSHA and company safety guidelines.
- Assist with physical inventories and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support other warehouse and production activities as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of shipping and receiving or warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience working in automotive, electronics, aerospace, or industrial manufacturing is a plus.
- Forklift certification or the ability to become certified.
- Experience with ERP or inventory management systems preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
- Ability to read packing slips, bills of lading, and shipping documentation.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Experience
- Shipping domestic and international orders.
- Working with electronic components or high-mix manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of inventory control procedures.
- Experience using barcode scanners and RF devices.
- Familiarity with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) handling procedures is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
Pay: $17
Shift: 1st shift 5Am-3:30 PM (Mon-Thurs 10 hr shifts--- Friday is as needed)
