RN - Oncology Chemotherapy Nurse

Overview: Join a compassionate healthcare team as a Registered Nurse specializing in chemotherapy care within a cancer center setting. This full-time day position offers the opportunity to provide expert nursing care tailored to patients undergoing oncology treatments in a vibrant regional healthcare environment in the Southeastern United States.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify care needs and develop individualized care plans.
Organize, implement, and evaluate nursing care to ensure patient safety and comfort.
Serve as charge nurse when assigned, overseeing nursing activities and supporting team coordination.
Administer medications as prescribed by physicians, monitoring for adverse reactions and effectiveness.
Recognize and respond promptly to life-threatening situations.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient care records.
Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Participate actively in cost containment efforts and accurate patient service charging.
Adapt care approaches to meet the physiological, psychosocial, developmental, and spiritual needs of patients across age groups.
Support patients' cultural and spiritual beliefs within the scope of medical treatment.

Education:

Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience:

No prior experience required; new graduates encouraged to apply.

Licenses and Certifications:

Current Registered Nurse licensure in a Compact state or the Southeastern U.S. region.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Skills and Abilities:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Effective organizational and leadership capabilities.
Knowledge of age-specific physiological and psychosocial patient needs.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to communicate effectively through speech and hearing.
Visual acuity sufficient for patient observation.
Physical stamina for standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
Potential exposure to blood and other infectious materials.
