Growing together.Position in this function performs mammography procedures per department protocol. Responsible for daily operations within the Imaging/Mammography department. Participates in daily huddles and meetings, provides customer service to internal and external members, and communication performing their duties. Follows standard of work to maintain 20% or less defect rate.Shift: Monday - Friday hours vary from 7 am - 5 pm. Weekend coverage optional.Location: Breast Care Center, 2300 W Charleston BlvdPrimary Responsibilities:Produces mammography images per departmental protocol. Is able to verify all orders and makes appropriate communications and changes as necessary per department protocols and standard of workFollows customer service protocols with internal/external staffs, Teamwork. Greets, and prepares correctly identified patient for examination. Verifies correct exam and provider information with the patient and makes the appropriate communications, as necessary. Explains specific procedures to be performed in appropriate confidential areasPerforms screening or diagnostic mammography exams using excellent positioning and exposure techniques and examines completed images for technical quality. Follows written order or self-referral policyAccurately maintains patient's imaging records utilizing the radiology information systems, EPIC/Radiant (EMR/RIS), and PACS/Synapse application in accordance with HIPAA, and established SMA guidelines, Policies, and procedures as necessary and appropriate for their work. Makes communication to appropriate persons, as necessaryEnsures correct processing of images utilizing the mammography equipment and examines images for technical quality, diagnostic acceptability following the department Quality Assurance guidelines and Technologist Quality guidelinesConducts Quality Control tests following ACR, Manufacture Quality Control Manuals and department policy and procedure manualsMaintains mammography equipment calling for service as necessary and makes appropriate communication. Maintains work area in a neat/clean order. Assists and maintains supply par level/ and maintains storage areasFollows all safety standards and work practices in the workplace. Uses radiation safety and practices when operating radiologic equipment that emits radiationFollows modality standard of workMaintains attendance with work schedules. May also be assigned to other modalities provided incumbent is trained passing department competencies, certified, or licensed in those modalities. May also be assigned to other sites, shifts, and dates based on operational needsWill comply with annual mandatory Fit testing, TB testing as a job requirement. Maintain mandatory web courses as assigned. Maintain licensures and certificatesParticipates in meetings/huddles with attendance and discussionYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:High School diploma and/or equivalentHave graduated from an accredited school of Radiology Technology or currently attending in good standingCurrent ARRT® and Nevada State Mammography and Radiography licenseARRT (M) certification in Mammography required within one (1) year of hire dateCurrent CPR certificationAnnual TB testing, and annual mask fit testingThorough knowledge of state and federal imaging guidelines pertaining to specialtiesKnowledge of radiology equipment, testing and safety hazards related to radiology required as well as having knowledge of radiology positioning, procedures, diagnosis, and quality assuranceSkilled in properly positioning patients to provide quality imagingAbility to use radiology computerized management system, PACS system, Electronic Health Record, and all other applicable facility computerized systemsProven excellent communication and interpersonal skillsProven ability to effectively communicate technical procedures and results with patients and providersProven excellent organization and time management skillsProven ability to perform imaging exams as applicable to license(s)Preferred Qualifications:1+ years of experienceConsideration:Exposure to radiation, risk of exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues. Rotates within Mammography department to include various shifts, other site locations, and have reliable transportation is required. May rotate within Imaging Services Department. Flexible to work overtime and weekends.
