DESCRIPTION

As an Estimator at Tutor Perini Building Corp, reporting to the Vice President of Preconstruction, you will have the opportunity to: Work with other Estimators in the assignment of project related responsibilities from conceptual estimating to preparation of GMP’s Quantify, analyze, and disseminate, to project estimating team, the detailed project program (work breakdown structure, room counts, functions, areas, etc.) during a project kick-off meeting Review, interpret, quantify, and accurately estimate cost in accordance with the project documents Identify and mitigate project related risk through strategic buyout and budget contingencies Solicit, collect and critically analyze Subcontractor/Vendor budgets, bids or quotations associated with assigned projects or packages Review and verify Scope of Work and pricing (Subcontractor Analysis Sheets) of other project team members when acting as the project lead estimator Presents the project scope of work, estimated costs, risks and opportunities to executive management during the final review of assigned estimates Participate in the presentation of proposals, budgets, etc. to clients and prospective clients Coordinate the delivery of appropriate project files for assigned projects to Operations Staff during a project turnover meeting using the Turnover Meeting Agenda and Checklist Participate and coordinate participation of project estimating team in the buyout process with operations Complete all required paperwork for bids or proposals (such as bid forms, bonding requirements, etc.) Provides support to Project Operations Team for Change Order estimating, extended buyout after Contract or turnover to Operations Team and other estimating support as required Visit Tutor Perini Building Corp. project sites as frequently as practical to observe construction operations at various phases and become familiar with jobsite logistics, means and methods, and Operations personnel Be involved in preconstruction Training Programs, becoming proficient in all aspects of preconstruction

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree preferably in Engineering or Construction Management or similar from an accredited institution Five or more years of experience in commercial construction estimating Excellent communication skills to effectively solicit and work with individual project owner’s representatives, material suppliers and subcontractors in pre-bid estimate preparations and post-bid negotiations Capable of effectively working within a cohesive estimating team to facilitate comprehensive cost proposals and conclude efforts during team reviews on major projects Experienced in estimating software tools On-Center and Timberline or similar preferred
