First Assist

Registered Nurse First Assistant Operating Room

3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, Monday to Friday, day shifts. Evening call required until 11 PM, with rotating holiday responsibilities. No weekends or holidays.

Contract length of 17 weeks, with guaranteed hours per week.

Registered Nurse license in New York

CNOR Certification required

Completion of an accredited RN First Assistant program

Two years of experience in the operating room, ideally in a level 1 trauma center

BLS certification from the American Heart Association required

ACLS certification from the American Heart Association preferred

Davinci Robotics experience required

Collaborate with surgeons and healthcare teams to ensure safe operations and optimal patient outcomes.

Perform duties of a circulating and scrubbing nurse when not assigned to RNFA role.

Utilize knowledge and judgement specific to perioperative nursing practices.

Perform first assistant duties under surgeon's direction during operations.

Ensure compliance with safety protocols in the operating room.

Background checks and drug screens may be required as part of the hiring process. Parking details will be provided.
