Nurse Practitioner

Position: Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Medical Oncologist/Hematologist Responsibilities Provide primary care in collaborative joint practice with physicians to patients and/or family members in the hospital setting on a regular basis, and within the practice setting as requested by physicians. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for individual patients. Initiate and document appropriate interventions; evaluate and record patient/family response within practice protocol. Prescribe drug therapies per protocol/physician consultation. Assist physicians and perform procedures as needed; conduct patient assessments and provide physician with information prior to seeing the patient. Assess patient/family needs and provide education. Promote wellness and recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs. Promote or provide staff education. Incorporate evidence-based research into clinical practice. Understand reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements; complete patient charge tickets. Mentor new mid-level providers as needed.
