We, at Hands of Heartland, will always place the person before the program — striving daily to embody the message our name states.What We Are Looking For:We are searching for compassionate and caring individuals to work full-time and part-time with the people that we support as a Direct Support Professional (DSP).What You'll Do:Work directly with people with developmental disabilities assisting them with day to day living activities in residential settings. You will support individuals with activities in a home environment and in community settings including meal planning, grocery shopping, or household chores. This position may require you to transport individuals in company vehicles.Skills Needed for the Job:Ability to work independently in a fast paced, team-oriented environment. Flexible and willing to adapt to change. Know the value of communication. Desire to support people and encourage them to reach goals.Personality Traits:Empathy. Patience. Understanding. Compassion. Adaptable. Respectful. Dependable. Sound Judgement.Requirements:Must be 18 years old. Must have a valid driver's license, car and auto insurance. Must be able to pass all background checks.Experience:Must have some experience in working with people with developmental disabilities. Must understand how to handle behaviors.Pay:$17 an hour. The pay is based on experience, and we also offer an incentive if you have a CNA license.Shifts:Monday through Friday 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM.Saturday & Sunday 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM.(Flexible) Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Sunday 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PMIf this sounds like you, we would love to talk to you and discuss your employment at Hands of Heartland.
