Sr. Operations Manager

Job ID: 10404471 | Amazon.com Services LLC Our Sr. Operations Manager is responsible for all budgetary, people development, and operations objectives across the site. In addition to overseeing core operations, the role involves managing and leading a team of Operations and Area Managers, coaching and mentoring staff to meet performance objectives, fostering positive employee relations, and developing leadership bench strength within the Fulfillment Center. Responsibilities Drive quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other Lean initiatives to enable the functional area and the fulfillment center to meet and exceed business plan targets. Ensure the overall safety, quality, performance, and customer experience of either Inbound or Outbound operations. Set and clarify requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers. Measure performance, provide feedback, and hold Ops Managers accountable for their performance and that of their departments. Leverage the Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas, and integrating them into improvement plans for the functional area. Takes proactive steps to ensure best practices are shared across all departments, shifts, and across the network. Collaborate with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other Sr. Operations Managers) to build and secure necessary support and resources for projects and initiatives in their area, and provide needed support for other staff initiatives. Additional Job Elements Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each. Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head. Walking frequently around the fulfillment center; facilities span over a quarter mile in length. Continual standing and/or walking an average of 5 miles daily. Ability to work in construction/distribution environments that may be noisy, unlit, unheated, or not air‑conditioned. Access all areas of the building (ascending and descending ladders, stairs, gangways safely and without limitation). Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent. 7+ years direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment. Prior experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and termination. Prior experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean techniques. Preferred Qualifications Interest in long‑term career development through assignments in multiple fulfillment centers across the nation. Degree in Engineering, Operations or related field and MBA preferred. Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons. Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations. The base salary range for this position is 121,500.00 - 164,400.00 USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
