Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery (L&D) registered nurse (RN) position is located in Machias, Maine. The role involves providing holistic, individualized care to obstetric patients, including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, nursery, and post-operative gynecology patients. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day. The position demands effective communication skills, clinical competency, and the ability to perform general and unit-specific clinical skills independently. A minimum of one year of acute care experience as an RN and graduation from an accredited School of Nursing are required.

• Required Qualifications: Current BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), Neonatal Resuscitation Certificate, STABLE (Stabilization) certification; graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; one year minimum of acute care experience as an RN; effective communication skills, written and oral; computer skills; must be vaccinated for COVID-19 per state mandate.
• Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Level Experience, teaching hospital experience, Epic electronic medical record experience.
• Additional Information: The role involves adherence to all Standards of Nursing Practice, supervising and evaluating patient care, managing supplies and equipment, and promoting teamwork with physicians and hospital personnel. Candidates should be prepared for possible floating requirements within their scope of practice.
