Personal Support Specialist (PSS) Southern Aroostook

Direct hire opportunity available for full-time positions with days, evenings, and weekends. Pay is $18.31/hr. with additional differentials for weekends and holidays.

We are seeking compassionate and dependable personal support specialists (PSS) to assist seniors living throughout northern Maine. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference by helping older adults maintain their comfort, safety, and independence at home. The personal support specialist will provide non-medical in-home support services tailored to each client's individual needs. Responsibilities may include assisting with daily living activities, companionship, meal preparation, housekeeping, transportation, and personal care support.

Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with daily living activities such as dressing, grooming, hygiene, and mobility support.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients in their homes.
• Prepare meals and assist with light housekeeping duties, including laundry, dishes, and general cleaning.
• Help clients with errands, grocery shopping, and transportation to appointments as needed.
• Monitor client well-being and report concerns or changes in condition to supervisors or family members.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and client activities.
• Follow individualized care plans and organizational policies and procedures.
• Support a safe, clean, and comfortable home environment for clients.
• Communicate professionally with clients, family members, and care team staff.
• Assist with additional support tasks as requested by supervisors or care coordinators.

Job requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent education required.
• PSS certification required; training opportunities may be available for qualified candidates.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to assist clients with mobility and daily living tasks as needed.
• Background check required.
