American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Urbana, Illinois. Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12 hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Apr 20, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Details Cardio/Pulmonary Med/Surg unit in an acute care hospital setting Patient population includes acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients 13-week contract, 36 hours per week Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week No on-call requirements Epic EMR experience required Requirements Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temp license accepted) Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association) Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience Level 1 Trauma facility experience required Epic EMR experience required Associate's degree (ASN) required; BSN preferred English proficiency (speaking, reading, and writing) Responsibilities Patient assessment and care planning Medication administration IV venipuncture, blood administration Lab monitoring Pain management Patient discharge education Collaboration with patients and families to identify goals of care and maintain individualized care plans Documentation of all care in Epic EMR Additional Information Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract Travelers who have been on continuous assignment at this health system for 1 year must either convert to permanent employment or take a 6‑month break before returning to any facility within the system Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
