3rd Shift CNC Machine Operator

Job Title: CNC Machinist (Job Code: OPH322) Duties and Responsibilities CNC Operations Set up and operate CNC equipment following detailed instructions to cut, punch, form, drill, mill, and stamp metal parts. Perform repetitive tasks such as loading/unloading parts, attaching components, and operating hand tools. Conduct basic equipment checks to ensure tools and machines are operational. Follow step‑by‑step written or verbal instructions for machine setup and operation. Quality Assurance Perform routine inspections using basic measurement tools (e.g., rulers, tape measures). Identify and segregate defective parts for supervisor review. Maintain accurate production and defect records. Safety Compliance Adhere to safety protocols and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Perform equipment checks and report potential hazards to leadership. Collaboration and Communication Work closely with team members, supervisors, engineers, and quality control to address challenges and improve processes. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally to report issues and provide updates. Workspace Maintenance Keep workspace clean, organized, and tools stored properly. Flexibility and Adaptability Work overtime when needed to meet production goals. Cross‑train in other areas and adapt to new processes or technologies. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Education: High School Diploma or GED. Experience: Entry‑level, no prior experience required. Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with machining techniques, tools, and equipment; basic computer literacy. Essential Skills: Effective oral and written communication. Machining Techniques: Ability to use machining equipment, hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and testing equipment. Quality Control: Ability to meet quality standards. Problem‑Solving: Identify issues and communicate them to leaders. Safety Awareness: Follow safety protocols and maintain hazard awareness. Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with all employees. Adaptability: Flexible in role, adjust to new processes, technologies, or production requirements. Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands: Manual dexterity; repetitive motions including bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, lifting, gripping, and grasping. Standing Duration: Ability to stand up to 10 hours per shift. Lifting Requirements: Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. Environmental Exposure: Ability to work in environments with noise, chemicals, dust, sharp objects, moving/rotating mechanical parts, and temperature extremes. Compensation Hourly rate ranges from $17.50 to $31.30 per hour. Final compensation is determined by experience and other factors in accordance with law. Bonus eligibility: Yes.
