The City of Wyoming is seeking a detail‑oriented Accounting Specialist II with strong communication and customer‑focused skills. The role administers retiree pension payments and essential benefit programs, supporting staff, retirees, and beneficiaries, and ensuring compliance with applicable policies, contracts, regulations, and laws. Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly pension payroll, including related tax and benefit payments Respond to inquiries (phone, email, and in person) from retirees, beneficiaries, and active employees Prepare pension estimates for active employees and support their transition into retirement Provide support to the Retirement Board in overseeing the defined benefit plan trusts Coordinate with the City’s actuary to complete annual plan valuations Assist with special projects, including account reconciliations, financial reporting, variance analysis, and quarterly and annual reporting requirements Partner with benefit providers on annual audits Qualifications Candidates must effectively communicate with City staff, retirees, other governmental agencies, and the public to ensure compliance with policies and regulations, and demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
