Regional Sales Engineer – CNC Metrology & Automation

Location: Remote
Territory: North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida
Travel: Up to 75%

Compensation: High base salary + commissions

The Opportunity:

An established provider of advanced manufacturing technology is seeking a Regional Sales Engineer to develop business and support customers throughout the South East United States.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded sales professional who understands manufacturing and enjoys working directly with machine shops, industrial manufacturers, machine tool builders, and distribution partners.

The position focuses on helping manufacturers improve machining accuracy, production efficiency, and process reliability through advanced measurement, inspection, and automation technologies.

The successful candidate will take ownership of an established territory, identify new business opportunities, strengthen customer relationships, and drive revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a regional sales strategy to achieve revenue and growth objectives.
• Identify new business opportunities and expand relationships with existing customers.
• Build strong partnerships with manufacturers, CNC machine tool builders, dealers, and distributors.
• Understand customer manufacturing processes and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
• Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and customer consultations.
• Support competitive evaluations, technical proposals, and customer return-on-investment discussions.
• Work with machine tool builders and automation partners to incorporate measurement technologies into new equipment and manufacturing projects.
• Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and opportunity development through negotiation and closing.
• Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline information, and customer activity within the CRM system.
• Represent the organization at industry trade shows, customer meetings, and regional events.

Qualifications

• Experience in technical B2B sales, preferably within CNC machining, machine tools, manufacturing automation, metrology, or industrial technology.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to engineers, manufacturing managers, and business decision-makers.
• Experience developing customer relationships and managing a regional sales territory.
• Comfortable working through both direct sales and distributor channels.
• Strong prospecting, negotiation, presentation, and account management skills.
• Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently in a field-based environment.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 75% throughout the territory.

Experience with CNC machine tools, in-process measurement, probing systems, laser-based measurement, or industrial automation is highly desirable.
