CRE Relationship Manager IV

Job Description

The CRE Relationship Manager IV is responsible for generating commercial real estate loan production, growing deposits, expanding client relationships, and increasing the penetration of banking products and services. This role manages the full relationship and transaction lifecycle, from sourcing new business and structuring complex credit facilities to negotiating terms and closing transactions. The ideal candidate brings extensive CRE lending expertise, strong local market relationships, sound credit judgment, and a proven ability to generate business while maintaining portfolio quality.

Job Responsibilities

• Achieve loan production, deposit gathering, and cross-selling goals by developing new business and expanding existing client relationships.

• Identify client financial needs and recommend appropriate lending, deposit, and other banking products and services.
\n
• Generate new business through networking, referral sources, centers of influence (COIs), and active participation in local professional and community organizations.
\n
• Maintain and deepen existing commercial real estate client relationships to maximize share of wallet and product penetration.
\n
• Source, structure, negotiate, and close complex CRE credit transactions, including land acquisition, construction, transitional or bridge financing, and permanent financing.
\n
• Coordinate loan structuring and documentation with internal teams and legal counsel, serving as the primary relationship and transaction lead.
\n
• Apply advanced CRE credit underwriting knowledge to assess borrower financials, collateral, repayment capacity, and transaction risk.
\n
• Partner with underwriting and portfolio management teams to monitor portfolio quality, loan policy exceptions, covenant compliance, credit reviews, and site inspections.
\n
• Review appraisals, appraisal reviews, construction cost analyses, and environmental reports to ensure compliance with approved terms, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
\n
• Identify potential credit risks, recommend corrective action plans, and follow through on measures to mitigate losses.
\n
• Present credit requests and portfolio matters to the Loan Committee and senior management.
\n
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal business partners and external alliances to generate lending opportunities.
\n
• Leverage capital markets knowledge to facilitate loan participations and syndicated lending transactions.
\n
• Demonstrate expertise in interest rate swaps and other hedging instruments to support client needs.
\n
• Coach and mentor junior relationship managers and contribute to team development.
\n
• Ensure compliance with applicable lending regulations and internal policies, including BSA/AML, the USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC requirements.

• Identify, evaluate, and escalate risks that may affect earnings, capital, regulatory compliance, or the institution's reputation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
\n
• MBA or master's degree in commercial real estate investment, finance, or a related field required.
\n
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, credit portfolio management, financial analysis, and structuring CRE credit transactions within the local market.
\n
• Formal credit training required.
\n
• Extensive knowledge of the local commercial real estate market and industry.
\n
• Advanced CRE credit analysis, financial statement analysis, construction lending, and credit structuring skills.
\n
• Proven track record of generating commercial real estate loans, gathering deposits, and expanding client relationships.
\n
• Experience structuring and negotiating complex CRE transactions and loan documentation.
\n
• Strong understanding of interest rate swaps, hedging instruments, loan participations, and syndicated lending.
\n
• Experience presenting credit requests to loan committees and senior management.
\n
• Strong leadership, coaching, negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
\n
• Must be registered with the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS), or willing to register before an employment offer is made.

• Must successfully pass required FBI criminal background and credit checks before an employment offer is presented.
