Job Summary The Shop Foreman at Bomnin Automotive oversees and coordinates the daily operations of the service department. This position is responsible for supervising technicians, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining high-quality standards in vehicle repairs and service. The Shop Foreman is a key member of the service leadership team. Key Responsibilities Supervision Provide leadership and guidance to a team of automotive technicians and service advisors. Assign work orders and responsibilities based on team members’ skills and expertise. Monitor productivity and efficiency, adjusting as needed to meet service goals. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback. Quality Control Ensure all repairs and maintenance meet or exceed dealership and manufacturer standards. Perform quality checks on completed work to verify accuracy and thoroughness. Address quality issues promptly. Technical Support Assist technicians in diagnosing complex vehicle issues and provide technical guidance. Stay updated on industry trends, technical service bulletins, and recalls. Workflow Management Prioritize repair orders based on urgency and customer needs. Coordinate with service advisors to provide accurate estimates and timeframes. Monitor progress to ensure timely completion. Address delays or issues that affect service efficiency. Customer Satisfaction Interact with customers to address questions or concerns. Strive to provide excellent service and maintain high satisfaction. Safety and Compliance Ensure all safety protocols are followed. Monitor compliance with environmental regulations and hazardous material disposal. Promote a safe and clean working environment. Inventory Management Oversee availability of parts and equipment. Maintain accurate records and reorder supplies as needed. Training and Development Identify training needs and coordinate programs. Support the development of technical skills and knowledge. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is a plus. Must be GM Technical Trained 100% in all categories and hold a Master ASE certification. Proven experience as an automotive technician or in a similar role. Strong leadership and supervisory skills. Excellent problem‑solving abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with automotive diagnostic equipment and tools. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused dealership environment. Physical Demands Standing, walking, and lifting various weights. Physical agility and dexterity for inspecting vehicles and equipment. May need to bend, stoop, and reach during duties. Work Environment The Shop Foreman primarily works in the service department, interacting frequently with technicians, advisors, and customers. At‑Will Employment This is an at‑will employment position, meaning either the employee or Bomnin Automotive may terminate the employment relationship at any time and for any reason, with or without notice.
