Chassis Prep

Job Description:

• Wastequip's Galbreath division has an immediate opportunity for a Prep Tech at their Winamac, IN manufacturing facility. The Chassis Prep will do prep work for the hoist mounting process and install certain components onto Truck Chassis .

Pay: $22.23

Shift: First

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review the truck chassis with the model of the hoist to be mounted and plans out what steps are necessary to complete the installation.
• Installs some of the electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic components needed prior to the chassis mounting process.
• Inspects work before the truck is moved on in the process
• Employee operates handheld plasma, huck gun, torch, welder, air drill, and chain drill as part of their everyday duties.
• Operates a forklift to move components as needed.
• Must be able to read a tape measure.
• Other responsibilities can be assigned by the supervisor/manager

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma/GED or Technical Degree preferred
• 1+ years of related experience and/or training preferred
• Experience with handheld plasma cutter, huck gun, torch, and air tools preferred
• Basic welding skills preferred
• Basic math skills
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Knowledge of electric, hydraulics, and pneumatics preferred
• Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
• Experienced in a fast-paced production environment preferred

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

• Able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs
• Able to withstand frequent exposure to fumes, noise, vibration, dust, oil, and dirt
• Must be able to walk and/or stand a majority of the time
• Must be able to climb in and out of a truck
