Maintenance Technician Level 1

Maintenance Technician

This is a skilled position in such areas as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and other relevant trades. Work may include all phases and tasks of the relevant trade. The position requires the ability to work independently and may involve directions and supervision of assistants and helpers. The position requires the ability to perform basic trouble-shooting and non-technical restoration of HVAC and refrigeration systems. Other duties may be assigned.

Job Qualifications:

• Documented proof of 5 years experience in the relevant trade, or
• Documented proof of 2 years' experience in a school system maintenance department in the relevant trade.
• Must maintain regular attendance.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform inspection, maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment independently as assigned.
• Perform on-call duties independently as assigned.
• Perform minor construction and alteration projects at facilities.
• Perform basic trouble-shooting and restoration of HVAC, refrigeration, alarm and security systems.
• Participate in training to maintain and upgrade knowledge in relevant trade skills.
