JOB SUMMARY

The Assistant Professor of Clinical – Interventional Radiology provides medical care to a large array of patients by offering minimally invasive image-guided diagnosis and treatment of disease. This role focuses on clinical care, research, and the training of residents and fellows. The faculty member will provide service at various UM/JMH locations in Miami Dade and Broward County.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Interpret interventional radiology imaging studies and perform interventional procedures. Assist in the development and implementation of new and innovative interventional procedures. Evaluate patients both pre and post intervention and contribute to the expansion of outpatient clinics for interventional procedures. Supervise performance of technical personnel. Evaluate and consult new referrals and follow up patients in IR clinic. Exercise quality assurance as related to the practice of interventional imaging. Provide interventional imaging consultation as requested. Provide emergency patient care as required in the setting of an Interventional radiology practice. Participate in the on-call schedule in Interventional Radiology and assume administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Chairman. Participate in teaching activities related to interventional radiology for residency/fellowship training programs, medical student education, technological radiology educational programs, and continuing medical education programs. Serve on Departmental, University of Miami, and Jackson Memorial Medical Center committees as requested. Participate in research activities as an investigator and mentor.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Medical Degree from an accredited Medical School (or foreign equivalent). Certification and Licensing: Florida Medical License or equivalent. American Board of Radiology Certification.
