Registered Nurse (RN) Nursery

Registered Nurse (RN) Nursery Job Type: PRN | Varies About the Role Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatment. Documents patient care given and monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family. Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support. Evaluates learning needs of patients and/or families and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients. Reviews and complies with LifePoint Code of Conduct and all relevant Company and Division policies and procedures. Qualifications and Requirements Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Current RN license to practice/work in the state of Tennessee. Current American Heart Association BLS certification or must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Current S.T.A.B.L.E. certification or must be obtained after 6 months of nursery experience but prior to completing 12 months of nursery experience. Successful completion of Neonatal Resuscitation certification within 90 days after hire. Minimum work experience: One or more years of recent Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn Nursery experience preferred. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
