Leads, facilitates, and performs the quality assurance process for both branch and targeted underwriting audits. Conducts file reviews, issue trending, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts for underwriting audits. Identifies technical training needs through audit results. Collaborates closely with Corporate Office Underwriting teams to identify, lead and participate in the development of product and underwriting technical training strategies. Acts as a strategic partner for branches to help identify specific training needs on technical underwriting issues. Partners with Learning and Development and serves as the primary Corporate Office Underwriting liaison. Essential Functions: - Leads, facilitates, and performs the quality assurance process for both branch and targeted underwriting audits.
- Conducts file reviews, issue trending, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts for underwriting audits.
- Acts as a strategic partner for branches to help identify specific training needs on technical underwriting issues.
- Acts as a facilitator or instructor for technical training, including underwriting schools, meetings or webinars, and provides input or prepares articles, best practices, white papers and underwriting bulletins on complex issues.
- Performs special projects as assigned.
Education & Experience: - Bachelor's degree, preferably in a business or insurance related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
- Eight years of commercial property and casualty underwriting experience or related experience
- Prior experience with corporate learning and the design and delivery of training programs preferred
- Insurance certifications such as CPCU, CIC, INS, and AU preferred
- Training designations or certifications preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Excellent underwriting and insurance knowledge
- Excellent presentation, communication, writing, planning and organizational skills
- Strong training knowledge
- Strong leadership and relationship building skills
- Excellent attention to detail, multi-tasking and project management skills
- Strong knowledge of computer-based learning tools, multimedia material, learning management systems and rapid authoring tools
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Advanced ability to gather facts, analyze alternatives and recommend solutions
- Excellent analytical ability to measure impact of training programs and learning solutions
- Occasional travel, including out of state travel, is required; a valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle report per company standards required if driving
