Facility: GSS KS Oberlin Decatur Cty Location: Oberlin, KS Address: 108 E Ash St, Oberlin, KS 67749, USA Shift: 8 Hours - Day Shifts Job Schedule: Part time Weekly Hours: 24.00 Salary Range: $11.00 - $17.00 Job Summary Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas for patients/residents, visitors and associates by following infection control, safety and procedural guidelines. The individual will be responsible for tasks such as emptying waste baskets, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, polishing floors, using brooms, mops or powered scrubbing and waxing machines. The role requires knowledge of housekeeping processes, tools and techniques in a healthcare environment and the ability to provide a clean and sterile environment for patients/residents and facility staff. Locations include but are not limited to patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas. The technician must wear proper protective equipment following guidelines, keep storage, equipment and carts well‑stocked, clean and tidy, and use pagers and other technology appropriately when needed. Assistance in laundry areas may be required. Physical activities include use of arms and legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting and handling materials, with the ability to lift or move up to 40‑50 lbs and push or pull variable weight limits on flat surfaces or ramps. The position requires standing for the majority of the shift and may expose the worker to certain noise levels. Work hours may vary depending on resident needs and can include overtime, backup call, nights, days, weekends and holidays. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred. Ability to use a computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful. Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and chemicals is helpful. Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.
