WATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

We are currently seeking a Water / Wastewater Operations Specialist for Northeast Michigan. The ideal candidate will respond quickly to changing conditions, be highly detail‑oriented, and be available to work weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule. Responsibilities Perform water treatment plant operations and maintenance. Operate and maintain water distribution systems (mains, valves, and hydrants). Respond to water system emergencies. Perform water sampling and monitoring. Perform laboratory analysis for water quality parameters. Perform housekeeping and facility maintenance. Keep accurate records. Qualifications High school diploma or GED (or equivalent) required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred. At least 1 year of relevant water treatment experience. Possession of a Class F-4 or S-4 or higher Michigan municipal drinking water certification preferred. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to follow oral and written technical directions. Ability to multi‑task, prioritize, and maintain high attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to work effectively with employees, customers, and the public. Team player who is willing to pitch in.
