QC Inspector

Job Overview Contract position based out of Naples, FL. Responsible for reviewing and evaluating Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) construction projects, including new build, span and drop replacements, risers, aerial installations, underground installations, and MDU lockbox replacements. Ensure compliance with OSHA, NCTA, FCC, and company safety standards. Responsibilities Perform quality checks on completed and ongoing projects; verify design compliance against plan, height, depth, easement adherence, and splicing practices. Answer contractor queries regarding design prints and ensure OSHA standards and MOT procedures are followed. Verify footage, path depth, easement adherence, sequential splicing practices and material usage during construction. Meet with city/county/DOT inspectors and utility locators to address damages, homeowner complaints, and restore property to standards. Submit QC inspection forms in a timely manner and document discrepancies between field and design prints. Maintain accurate As-Built records and perform construction inspections per Tillman FiberCo’s Technical Quality Assurance (TQA) standards. Operate test equipment to verify optical levels as designed and document aerial/underground construction in still images/video. Prepare work orders to resolve elements that do not meet specifications. Communicate with Project Manager or Supervisor regarding construction progress concerns. Perform emergency locates, operate ride-outs, and comply with local, state, federal regulations including traffic control. Adhere to company policies, NCTA, FCC, OSHA, and company safety standards. Work weekends or second shift as required. Perform other duties as requested by supervisor. Qualifications 5+ years experience in construction, maintenance, and repair of outside plant (OSP) supporting telecommunications services (Telephone, CATV, High-Speed Internet). Proficiency reading general system layouts, blueprints, and system maps. Ability to measure distances accurately using tapes or other devices. Experience operating signal level meters, ohm meters, and other test equipment. Strong written and spoken English communication skills with employees, customers, suppliers. Knowledge of F.O.A, N.E.C, N.E.S. C., National Electric Code, National Electrical Safety Code. Experience ensuring compliance with OSHA safety standards, NCTA, FCC regulations. Ability to take and produce clear photographic and video documentation of field work. Able to work while standing 50-70% of the time and operate vehicle for job-to-job travel with mileage reimbursement. High school diploma or equivalent preferred; entry-level acceptable.
