Job Summary:

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for sterilizing, decontaminating, and assembling surgical instruments to ensure safety and efficiency within a high-volume surgical environment. This role requires o meet the demands of a Level I Trauma Center, supporting diverse surgical cases.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Perform sterilization, decontamination, and assembly of surgical instruments following established protocols.
  
  
• 
  Ensure proper wrapping and packaging of instruments to maintain sterility.
  
  
• 
  Assist in the preparation and setup of surgical trays and instrument sets.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with clinical staff to meet infection control standards and operational needs.
  
  
• 
  Float within scope to support multiple hospital campuses and departments.
  
  
• 
  Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization processes and equipment logs.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Possess at least 2 years of sterile processing experience in a hospital setting.
  
  
• 
  Hold current CBSPD and/or HSAPI certification.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate experience with neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, transplant, or GYN cases preferred.
  
  
• 
  Exhibit knowledge of sterilization, decontamination, and instrument handling protocols.
  
  
• 
  Must have or be eligible for South Carolina RN license, with proof of application or active status.
  
  
• 
  Ability to work evening shifts (5x8s), with flexibility to float across facilities.
