Evening Residential Manager

Job Summary

Bridges Domestic Violence Center is seeking a dependable, organized, and compassionate Evening Residential Manager to join our shelter team.

This position plays an important role in the daily operation of our emergency shelter and provides trauma-informed support, crisis response, and advocacy to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence.

We are looking for someone who can balance compassion with structure, communicate well with a team, remain calm during challenging situations, and help create a safe and supportive environment for residents.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed support, crisis intervention, and client advocacy
• Answer crisis hotline calls and provide appropriate support and referrals
• Complete shelter intakes and exits
• Support residents as they work toward personal goals, stability, and independence
• Maintain a safe, structured, and respectful shelter environment
• Communicate closely with other shelter staff to ensure continuity of care
• Document client interactions, case notes, and services accurately
• Assist with referrals and coordination of community resources
• Provide transportation for clients as needed
• Assist with oversight of shelter safety, cleanliness, and daily operations
• Assist with donations and resource coordination
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and team communication
• Assist with supervision of weekend staff as needed
• Compile and maintain information needed for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Experience in social services, domestic violence advocacy, case management, residential programs, or a related field preferred
• Compassionate and trauma-informed approach to working with survivors
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage crisis situations with sound judgment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a team
• Dependable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient computer skills, including electronic documentation, spreadsheets, data entry, and compiling information for reports
