Summary Performs procedures involving blood collection, central receiving/specimen handling, and limited technical functions to assist the technologist in performing laboratory analysis. Formal Education Required High School graduate or GED equivalent Experience And Training Required One (1) year previous phlebotomy experience or successful completion of a formal phlebotomy training program Certificate in Phlebotomy or as a Medical Assistant is preferred Ability to travel from location to location Other Skills, Competencies And Qualifications Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity. Knowledge of medical terminology Ability to multitask Level Of Physical Demands Medium: Exerts20-50pounds of force occasionally and/or ten to 25pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force continuously to move objects.
