Bonus of $1.00 per hour worked, paid twice a year (January 15th and June 15th) Job Description Purpose Statement The Nutrition Services Assistant Manager provides support to food service activities at the assigned location, preparing and serving food items to students and/or school personnel, and maintaining food service facilities in a safe and sanitary condition. This job reports to the Building Nutrition Services Manager. Essential Functions Arrange food and beverage items for efficient serving to students and staff. Attend meetings, in‑service training, workshops, etc., to gather information required to perform job functions. Clean utensils, equipment, and storage, food preparation and serving areas to maintain required sanitary conditions. Inventory food, condiments and supplies to ensure availability for meeting projected menu requirements. Maintain equipment, storage, food preparation and serving areas in a sanitary condition to comply with current health standards. Monitor kitchen and cafeteria areas to ensure a safe and sanitary working environment. Perform functions of other nutritional services positions, as requested by supervisor, to ensure adequate staff coverage within site operations. Prepare food and beverage items according to worksheet instruction and quantity recipe to meet mandated nutritional and projected meal requirements. Report equipment malfunctions to notify supervisor of repair or replacement needs. Serve food items to meet mandated health and National School Breakfast and Lunch program nutritional requirements. Other Functions Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. Job Requirements Minimum Qualifications Citizenship, residency, or work visa required. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Skills : Adhere to safety practices; operate commercial kitchen equipment. Knowledge : Basic math; read and follow instructions; understand multi‑step written and oral instructions; safety practices; quantify food preparation and handling; sanitation practices. Abilities : Schedule activities; collate data; use job‑related equipment; work with a diversity of individuals; problem‑solve with data; work as part of a team; handle interruptions; moderate equipment problem solving. Responsibilities Work under direct supervision using standardized procedures; provide information and advise others; operate within a defined budget.
